About this blog

The term globalization has been used since the 1980s to describe a wide range of phenomena and processes with accelerating and intensifying effects observed globally. This broad concept has led to diverse and often conflicting interpretations. Scientific discussions on globalization frequently produce contradictory results and theories.

In our blog, researchers from the Leipzig Research Centre Global Dynamics and guest authors are invited to:

  • Link Current Events to Fundamental Research: Relate contemporary issues to foundational research and theoretical frameworks.
  • Comment on Controversial Interpretations: Offer insights and critiques on differing views of global affairs based on your expertise.
  • Explain Complex Interconnections: Provide clarity on intricate global dynamics, referencing more detailed scientific publications as needed.
  • Address Various Scales: Your article can focus on both local observations and wide-ranging macro-sociological interpretations. Highlight how global dynamics operate at different levels of social interaction.
  • Explore Actor Dynamics: Examine how different groups navigate or leverage the interactions between various levels of global and local phenomena.
  • Discuss Research Methods: Describe the methodologies used in studying global dynamics, including qualitative and quantitative approaches, case studies, comparative analyses, and interdisciplinary methods.

The blog aims to provide a platform for diverse perspectives and in-depth analysis, contributing to a multifaceted understanding of global dynamics.

The blog is edited by ReCentGlobe’s Science Communication department and coordinated by Roman Krawielicki.

We look forward to receiving submissions in one of the above-mentioned formats. Please contact the editorial team here. The guidelines for a contribution to the “Global Dynamics” blog can be found here. Contributions are preferably published in English. German articles are also possible.
